The stock strap that came with my camera left actual welts on my neck during a day trip. I thought that was just normal until I tried padded options and realized I'd been suffering for no reason.

Once I switched to a mirrorless body, a full neck strap felt like overkill. A wrist strap gave me just enough security without the bulk, especially when I was shooting street stuff and moving fast.

I shot a friend's outdoor birthday party for seven hours and my neck was wrecked by hour three. Switching to a sling strap changed everything because the weight sits on your shoulder instead of pulling your head forward.

When I started shooting 35mm film, the nylon tech straps looked out of place on my old Pentax. Leather and woven straps matched the vibe and honestly made me want to carry the camera more often.

I used to fumble with strap buckles every time I put my camera on a tripod. Then I discovered quick-release anchors and honestly felt silly for not switching sooner. Two seconds to detach, two seconds to reconnect.

Not everyone wants to drop $60 on a strap right after buying their first camera. I get it. These are all under fifteen bucks and I've personally stress-tested each one without a single failure.
