FRIGHTS & DELIGHTS
Ever since I can remember, Halloween has been my favorite holiday. Every year, my family would dress up, and my grandparents would come into town to spend the evening with us. My parents would hook a little trailer to the lawn mower, pile it high with blankets, and take us around town trick-or-treating. We’d always end the night at our other grandparents’ house, where all of us kids would sit on the floor, dump out our candy, and trade with each other. Now, our childhood home belongs to another family, one of my grandmas and one of my grandpas are no longer with us, and even our grandparents’ house has been sold. But it’s memories like these that make Halloween my favorite holiday—it will always carry that sense of warmth and togetherness for me.
