I tried two flimsy wall-mounted tables before I found ones that could handle a real project. These don't wobble when you're routing or drilling, and they fold flat enough that you forget they're there.

Once the bench folds up, your tools need somewhere to live. I used to just pile everything on the workbench surface and then spend 20 minutes clearing it before I could start a project.

My garage had one bare bulb in the center and I couldn't see what I was cutting. Once I added real lighting above the fold-down bench, my accuracy went up and my bandage usage went down.

Sawdust in a small garage doesn't just disappear. It coats your car, your tools, and somehow ends up in the kitchen. Controlling it made the fold-down bench concept actually livable.

Full-size stationary tools don't work when your bench disappears into the wall. I switched to compact versions that clamp to the bench when it's down and store on the wall when it's up.
