Taco Joints
You know a place is good when it's consistently ranked (and also is a mom and pop taco spot). Brush up on your spanish and head to Little Village.
La Chaparrita Taqueria
Has been my favorite taco joint in Chicago for years. Bring some cash and a big appetite. The tacos here are amaaaazing.
Taqueria Traspasada 2
The #11 (Slow-Roasted Angus Brisket) is the only thing you need to know about Velvet taco. Sure, the menu is huge but nothing beats the cheese-encrusted tortilla.
Velvet Taco
Unexpectedly good for a quick pitstop
EL TRAGON TAQUERIA
Burger Joints
An absolute Chicago staple and classic. I know it's a hot dog place but I have always obsessed over their cheeseburger with everything on it.
Portillo's Chicago

Small Cheval over Au Cheval. It's already an expensive burger joint (albeit delicious) so go the small route. Recommendation: Double cheese burger with everything on it
Small Cheval
This burger can serve any juicy burger craving, and very easily too. I LOVE Tzuco's classic burger very dearly.
Tzuco
Restaurants
Located in River North, Beatrix is a chill spot for any mealtime, they also have a bakery. Nice for post-work, catching up with friends, or just grabbing a quick bite.
Beatrix
Doc B's salad reign the game for me. Adding steak is the key but you also can't go wrong. There is never really a line / wait to go either so it's reliable!
Doc B's Restaurant
Who doesn't love the farm to table concept paired with the cute farm interior. Blue Door is newer in the game and killing it. The chicken and waffles are sort of a no-brainer here too.
Blue Door Kitchen & Garden
When you can't choose 1, why not have all? TOM is great for housing some of the best restaurants under 1 roof.
Time Out Market Chicago
Pizza
Easily my favorite pizza place in the city. I have tried most of their pizzas - highly recommend the “Great balls of fire” pizza or the “Burrata be kidding me”
Parlor Pizza
It was either I included Giordano's or Lou Malnati's.. can't have both. This is just a Chicago classic and a spot I go to to show people what I really think a good Chicago pie is.
Giordano's Pizza
Classic happy hour spot - great for outdoor seating in the summer
Happy Camper
Cafe
My favorite favorite favorite spot for a quick breakfast (and latte of course). The pastry assortment is amazing but get there in the AM and early, otherwise things go quickly.
Goddess And The Baker
A cute spot for any meal time. The breakfast sandwich series (Royale) and French omelette and my go-to's.
Lula Cafe
The best bfast sandwich in Chicago, hands down. Their lattes are also deeeelish
Allez Café
Why not make Monday's happy? Especially with a great latte. Smooth coffee and airy interior vibes. Good for a quick grab.
