Starter
Your starter consists of only two things: water (clean) and flour (^protein).
Here are some recommendations that are going to give you a great start(er).
;)
You need nice and clean water.
If your tap water is good, then I would definitely not shy away from using that tho!!
Great Value Purified Drinking Water, 16.9 fl oz, 24 Count
This is great.
Unbleached and high in protein.
Bob's Red Mill Unbleached Enriched Artisan Bread Flour - 5lbs
Another flour option.
This one, also, with a good amount of protein in it.
King Arthur Flour Golden Whole Wheat - 5lbs
Another type of flour to be utilised.
You know the drill: organic and with protein.

Tools
Ranging from needs to nices, these are tools to be used when making your sourdough.
You need somewhere for your starter to be, and I find the perfect fit for it to be a classic mason jar.
There is a lot of stuff advocated towards sourdough, but I personally find that a lot of the “normal” stuff work just as well, if not better.
Paksh Wide Mouth Mason Jars 32oz, 2-Pack
Do NOT use a metal spoon when mixing your starter. Instead use this:)
Elihome Mini Silicone Spatula 8.9IN Sage
When your making you actual sourdough, mixing your starter with more water and flour, this is a great tool to have, with it being handy and easy to clean.
Danish 13" Dough Whisk with Wooden Handle
When your dough reaches the state of cold-poofing, I find that a good banneton basket is such a great thing to have.
My loaves have only gotten nicer since I got my hands on these!!
2 Pack 10" Round & Oval Banneton Proofing Baskets
A nice score is essentially what’s going to make or break your sourdough looks-wise.
A knife can do, but I find this to be so much nicer.
Not to forget: a good score is also really important for the baking-process as well!!
Bread Lame Sourdough Scoring Tool with 10 Blades
If you want to go the next step, a Dutch oven is what you need to get for yourself.
However, this is such a nice to have and definitely NOT a need to have!
Overmont 5.5QT Enameled Cast Iron Dutch Oven
