Silicone bottles were my first breakthrough. I used to triple-bag my shampoo in Ziplocs like a paranoid person. These actually hold up at altitude and don't pop open when you squeeze your bag into the overhead bin.

Screw caps are where I landed after silicone flip-tops failed me on a red-eye to London. That hard click of a properly threaded cap gives me peace of mind no squeeze bottle ever could.

Regular bottles are terrible for sunscreen and thick lotions. You end up doing that awkward shake-and-squeeze for five minutes. Tubes solved this problem completely for me on a beach trip where I almost gave up and just burned.

I got pulled aside at security three times in one year because my Ziploc kept ripping open and spilling tiny bottles everywhere. Switched to proper pouches and haven't been flagged since.

Sometimes the bottles are fine but the bag situation is chaos. I learned this the hard way when a perfectly good bottle got crushed by a shoe and leaked through the cap.

Sprays and pumps were my biggest headache because the nozzles always got pressed down inside my bag. Found a few that actually lock, and now I travel with perfume and face mist without flinching.
