The rocky shoreline at Cleopatra Beach will shred flimsy swimwear and cheap flip flops in about ten minutes. I learned this the painful way when I sliced my foot open on day one and spent the rest of the trip limping around like a wounded pirate.

Cleopatra Beach is incredible but spending all five days at the same spot means missing some of the wildest coastline in North Africa. I almost skipped Agiba Beach and I still think about how close I came to that mistake.
