I've read my fair share of YA books and these are the ones I've enjoyed the most.
I did the audio version of this series and I feel the voice acting was amazing and really added to the story.
The Summoning (Darkest Powers Series #1)
The follow up series to Darkest Powers, it was very good as well.
The Gathering (Darkness Rising Series #1)
Really cool series and probably the best movie versions of any books on this list.
The Maze Runner (Maze Runner Series #1)
One of those series where only the first book is good unfortunately. But it's definitely worth the read.
The Hunger Games (Hunger Games Series #1)
This series is the ultimate “first book is awesome, rest of the series not so much” I can still recommend the first book, but don't expect a great ending to the series.
Divergent (Divergent Series #1)
Awesome story of a 12 year old boy, the job he is assigned, and the utopia he lives in.
The Giver
A little paint by the numbers YA story about a young girl with special powers who discovers a supernatural world. Still entertaining though.
City of Bones (The Mortal Instruments Series #1)
Pretty dark but fantastic story about all the kids in a town being trapped behind a mysterious bubble.
Gone (Gone Series #1)|Paperback
Two teenage protagonists navgate a dark, futuristic Los Angeles from opposide sides.
Legend (Legend Series #1)
I really liked the first book but the whole series was worth reading.
Cinder (Lunar Chronicles #1)
I only read the first couple books in this series but I thought the concept was pretty cool.
The Lightning Thief (Percy Jackson and the Olympians Series #1)
Powerful young aliens live quietly among us, hiding from the enemies determined to wipe them out. Their only hope is to band together to survive…
I Am Number Four (Lorien Legacies Series #1)
A young English boy is marooned in feudal Japan with no family and his only chance of survival is training to be a samurai.
The Way of the Warrior (Young Samurai Series #1)
Such a rich, imaginative world to explore in this series.
The Golden Compass (His Dark Materials Series #1)
An underground city that serves as a refuge for humanity is dying and the only hope is following a vague ancient message…
The City of Ember (Books of Ember Series #1)
Another series about a refuge city for mankind. I actually read this out of order haha. But I still enjoyed it a lot.
