We always stay in VRBO options and they are FABULOUS. Our favorite was an oceanfront, gated condo in Loiza for a super affordable price, and great location!

You need a car. Trust me. Puerto Rico has too many beautiful places that it's difficult to Uber/Public Transportation to, especially if you're not fluent in Spanish. The car rental is 100% worth it - we had a great experience with Enterprise on our l...

Old San Juan - Top Things to Do in Puerto Rico (2026)
This restaurant is so pretty and has tasty food and drinks with waterfront views. Keep in mind that restaruants are PRICEY in PR. I'd pick a few favorite spots to eat at while on vacation and plan to make a grocery run so you can cook some at home. Unless you're super rich, then, I mean, go for it ;)
La Casita de Rones
We spent multiple days along this stretch of beach. Pull your car right up onto the sand and enjoy insanely beautiful views and absolutely lovely water for swimming. There's also some local kiosks with DELISH food along this road. It's a local beach spot and everyone we ran into was super friendly. Don't miss this beach, ya'll.
Playa Piñones - Gorgeous and severely underrated!
Please PLEASE visit this lighthouse! The VIEWS from this vantage point are breathtaking. Make sure to stop at the Ola Susnet Cafe right next to the lighthouse for some treats and, I cannot stress this enough, THE VIEWS.
Faro de Punta Higüera
Do a boat or snorkel tour - so fun! Plus, most tours have excellent food & drinks! I have yet to have a poor experience snorkeling in PR!
