Our Favorite Hikes Near Blue Ridge, GA

There is so much to explore here its almost too much!  We try to explore something new every weekend we can! We will keep adding here… so many to choose from.

A paved road leads to the summit, but it's important to note that the road can be closed during inclement weather. You can also choose to hike up the paved Brasstown Bald Summit Trail, or take a shuttle.

Lots of trails here to choose from!  Dog friendly.  We have not done them all but the loop trail is about 6 miles.  Don't forget to always bring water!  We never have enough.

Not along trail but very nice.  Dog friendly 🐶!  Very busy trail!  There is a park entrance fee – if you have an America The Beautiful pass just display in your windshield. We thought we were going to buy a house close to here and it did not work out.  The drive in was a little rough but well worth the effort.  BONUS: if you mountain bike there are trails perfect for that in this park too!

Breweries and Wineries

There’s no shortage of great breweries here, but Buck Bald is our favorite so far. Cozy, unpretentious, and the IPA never misses. We will continue to explore and add to our list!

Two locations Murphy NC and Copperhill TN about 30 minutes from Blue Ridge.  Scenic drive and great vibe!  Hike the trails in the National forest and stop here after for a great refreshment!  One of our visits to the Murphy location a local rode in our their side by side and was selling fresh eggs - so good! Cozy, unpretentious, and the IPA never misses

This place lacks atmosphere – stop at the pizza place or the pinball place and grab some grub (great burgers). If the weather allows grab a beer and sit on the deck that overlook’s downtown Blue Ridge! The beer is really good.

Tucked in the hills very cute!  They have cabins and such if you want to stay.  There is a spa as well.  Great music - we say a lady who played a banjo that was exceptional!

Must Haves for Life in Blue Ridge area

Living here is different…in a good kind of way.  There are some key things to have on hand to make it even more enjoyable!

There is so much to learn about this special area of Georgia.  If you find yourself wondering some of the back story books might just be what you are looking for.  I love finding local reads that tell the story about the areas! While Blue Ridge, GA, is the biggest attraction and yes tourist town – it is a charming mountain town, traces its roots to the arrival of the Marietta and North Georgia Railroad in 1886....

Great RV Resort for all rig types.  We stayed here for over 3 months while looking for our house.  Staff is attentive and accomodating.  Great views.  We stayed on the lower level and was very happy.  The top level has amazing views – but super windy and we heard water pressure wasn't great.  They just hired a chef and were getting ready to up restaurant and second/family pool in spring 2025.

We have not stayed here and just recently learned about this place.  It looks very nice and is in a great location for breweries and mountain biking.

We stayed here for 8 nights during Christmas season.  Very active campground even in the winter on the weekends.  Well maintained clean level lots right on the river.  Would stay here again if needed.

We have not stayed here… but our friends came up to visit and stayed a night here.  They have a roof top bar open to the public with live music during the summer months.  This hotel is right in Blue Ridge so you can walk to all the stores and restaurants.

Mountain Bites & Local Sips

This is where we go when we don’t feel like cooking. These are our go-to places for a good meal, a great vibe, and maybe even a craft beer or two. Some are hidden gems, others are just plain legendary — all are worth the stop.

Not dinner or lunch but you gotta start with a great cup of coffee…right.

We love the bar here – and when we order dinner sit at the back bar.  Its where the locals go.  They also have outdoor seating but we have not been out there yet.  Huge fire pit too.  Great vibe!

Best view in Ellijay!  We loved the food and vibe here.  Sit outside if you can and the weather allows and catch the sunset!

Hands down the best burger we've had in awhile!  It's loud though … you could get it to go and go up to the brewery but the burger is a must have!

Excellent italian food.  We went with friends after an afternoon of wine hoping.  We had a reservation but showed up an hour early – the were able to accomodate BUT I would recommend you ask to be seated upstairs not down stairs which is really a basement.  Other than that the food was great.  Staff was great.  Great wine selection and deserts.  We met locals sitting outside.  During peak season (May - October) you need a reservation.
