I used to white-knuckle skinny metal hooks until my thumb joint screamed at me. Switching to these chunky, soft-grip sets was the single biggest relief. Now I can binge a whole season of something and keep hooking without pain.

Before I bought all new hooks, I tried upgrading what I already had. Some of these grip solutions worked so well I still use them on my favorite old hooks that I refuse to retire.

Hooks are only half the battle. My hands still ached until I started using actual support gear during marathon sessions. These are the things that sit on my couch arm now, permanently.

Half my hand pain came from fighting with tangled yarn, holding tension wrong, or chasing a ball across the floor. Fixing the stuff around the hook made almost as much difference as the hook itself.

Staying comfortable means not hunching over a bag of chaos looking for your stitch markers at 11pm. Getting organized shaved real pain off my shoulders and neck, which I didn't even realize was connected to my hand problems.
