There's something special happening at Adidas.
If you had told my junior high self that one day I'd be setting reminders on my calendar for Adidas shoe drops, she would've smiled and said, "That's exactly who I hoped I'd become." To this day, I still keep the pair of Super Sambas I wore in eighth grade in my closet. They're almost 30 years old now, and they've followed me through countless milestones, more than 15 moves, and every chapter of my life. They're a quiet reminder that truly great design never goes out of style. Whenever someone comments on how many shoes I own—or my collection of Sambas and Gazelles—I always laugh and say, "Oh, I have a pair for every occasion." I stopped playing soccer after ninth grade, but my love for the game never left me. Last year, I had the opportunity to flip the coin at a professional women's soccer match. Standing in front of that crowd made me incredibly nervous, but someone complimented my blue Sporty & Rich Sambas, saying they perfectly matched the Chicago Red Stars colors. That small comment grounded me. I remember thinking, It's the shoes. They save me every single time. (Even if I completely fumbled the coin toss.) More than anything, I realized I was trying to make my younger self proud. As we grow older, our style changes, but the pieces that truly feel like us often stay the same. I think we sometimes forget how much those familiar pieces carry our confidence and our identity. I've spent years trying different trends, wanting to be more of this or that, but my style has always found its way back to the same dependable staples. Looking back, I think they've become a kind of comfort—a confidence I can wear. When I put on something I know fits well, feels good, and reflects who I am, I stop worrying about everything else. That's why I keep coming back to Adidas. Whether I'm wearing sneakers with a suit, a dress, or pairing a track jacket with something more polished, the brand has always fit naturally into my life. It takes the stress out of getting dressed—except, of course, when the shoes I want sell out. (Shakes fist at the sky.) These are some of my favorite Adidas pieces that have stayed with me over the years. I hope that if one catches your eye, it's still available—or that you find something just as perfect for your own style journey.
