Escape the crowds and discover hidden lakeside gems — from rugged dunes to quiet coves. These are the spots I’d text to my closest friends before a weekend road trip. Less people, more vibes. 💙

Upper Peninsula
Check out these secret beaches in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. 🏖️
A sweet little beach with big small-town charm. Low-key, quiet, and clean. Tip: There’s a playground + bathrooms = family approved
Escanaba Municipal Beach
Eastern Lower Peninsula ✋🏻

Wide shoreline, soft sand, and a serious escape-from-it-all feel. One of my favorite places for a golden hour walk. Peaceful + romantic. Tip: Walk past the main area for more privacy.
Port Crescent State Park
Wild, undeveloped, and usually empty. This beach is for the unplugged girls (and guys). Tip: No restrooms — pack water + bug spray and thank me later.
Negwegon State Park
Keep walking south and you’ll hit the less-traveled area of the park. Great dunes, stunning views, and real solitude. Tip: Pack layers — it gets breezy after 5pm.
Port Crescent State Park
Not your usual beach — it’s rocky and raw but gorgeous. Fossils, freighters, and a rugged shoreline that makes you feel somewhere. Tip: Wear water shoes!
Rockport State Recreation Area
Western Lower Peninsula ✋🏻

Blink and you’ll miss it — but it’s everything. Calm, crystal water and trees that make it feel like your own secret cove. Tip: Very limited parking. Go early.
Christmas Cove Beach
Calm water, trees for shade, and locals lounging with books. It’s giving "picnic + paperback" energy. Tip: Stop at a winery before or after — you're right in wine country.
