Books i read as a Teenager
15
items This is a collection of books i found in the library as a teenager that i liked and sometimes still think about. Unfortunately there are more books i wanted to add but i can't remember the names.
This is such a cool take on a dystopian world where everyone gets a forced "glow-up" at 16. It really makes you think about beauty standards while keeping you hooked on the action. It’s a classic for a reason.
Uglies (Uglies Series #1)|Paperback
Forget everything you think you know about vampire tropes; this series is actually driven by a deep friendship and intense bodyguard training. Rose is a total powerhouse protagonist. It’s the perfect mix of high school drama and life-or-death stakes.
Vampire Academy (Vampire Academy Series #1)|Paperback
This is one of the first instances of horror i read as a teenager and i was immediately hooked. Years later i still love various media of horror.
The New Girl (Fear Street Series #1)|Paperback
This series gets surprisingly dark for a kids' book, but the "alien invasion" hook is incredible. Five kids getting the power to turn into animals to save the world is a genius premise. It's fast, exciting, and a bit of a wild ride.
The Invasion (Animorphs Series #1)|eBook
Perfect for anyone who loves middle-school friendship drama. Watching Elizabeth and Jessica navigate growing apart while staying close is super relatable. It’s a light, easy read that feels like a warm hug.
Sweet Valley Twins: Best Friends: (A Graphic Novel)|Hardcover
i liked all the fear street books as a kid but since its a whole series of books there should always be one to start at. You really can’t go wrong with any of these if you want a quick, spooky thrill. They’re legendary for their twist endings and "cr...
Night of the Living Dummy (Classic Goosebumps Series #1)|Paperback
This might not be a typical book for a teenager to read but i loved reading and read anything i could get. One of my first instances of fantasy books and to this day it remains my fav genre no matter the media format.
The Lord of the Rings|Hardcover
The only other book back then i could find that came close to fixing my need of more LOTR was The Hobbit. Its a classic for a reason and i still find myself re reading it from time to time.
The Hobbit|Hardcover
I was no different than any other teenager and followed the trends as they came and this was one of them. The only acceptable team is Team Charlie
Twilight (20th Anniversary Edition)|Paperback
It might or might not have been a phase as this is the third entry on this list about vampires. A good fantasy romance is just that, its good. i read the book series long before i found out there was a tv series, there are a tons of differences but f...
The Awakening (Vampire Diaries Series #1)|Paperback
If you've read through the whole list its by now very clear that i liked books related by vampires. i'd lie if i say i wasnt obsessed by this. I recently tried to re read the series and i wasn't for me anymore, maybe my reading style matured? Neverth...
Marked (House of Night Series #1)|Hardcover
Dystopian sometimes felt realistic for me maybe thats why i liked reading books in that genre. As a teenager i tought this was a fun book and later i discovered the true meanings of it. More recently i also enjoyed the nievwer books. the day where i ...
Hunger Games 5-Book Paperback Box Set (The Hunger Games, Catching Fire, Mockingjay, The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes, Sunrise on the Reaping)|Paperback
Greek mythology brought into the modern world—what’s not to love? Percy is a realistic narrator, and the fast-paced quest makes it difficult to put down. Itr was a fun series and the quirky responces in the book did make me smile from time to time.
The Lightning Thief (Percy Jackson and the Olympians Series #1)|Paperback
A counterpat to Percy Jackson if you like Egyptian Mythology more. i did appreciate that it was a sibling adventure instead of just 1 main protagonist with friends.
The Red Pyramid (Kane Chronicles Series #1)|Paperback
Another classic, i wish there was more to this story. I think when it comes to classics people should start to read them when they can.
Eragon (Inheritance Cycle #1)|Paperback
