Photographic views, check, Interesting places to explore, check, Dining, check and I have stayed there over night (once) but for my tastes I will admit its too “peopley”… But for a short visit, there is a ton of things to see and do…

My current office is in the living room and we are moving so I hope to have a small office (with a view out a window??? (please) So these are the things I have in my Wishlist at Wayfair. I want to move from the 53x22 in console table that I am using currently and move to a little larger L shaped desk. I have an old dresser (with mirror) for my office drawers (my table has none) and I have a wireless Epson Wf-2960 printer on top of the dresser. When I retired my job let me keep my office chair and it's in decent shape but I do a lot of sitting and I had to add a cushion from the patio outside AND a Purple cushion… If you have a sore rear, get yourself a purple cushion, take my word for it…

Most people tend to think of Vermont as very rustic, with farms and such scenery, but you can travel across the Green Mountains as well.

Scattered along New England’s rugged coastline lie the sunken remains of countless sailing ships—a haunting reminder of the treacherous waters that once demanded the guidance of lighthouses. These silent sentinels, standing watch through darkness and storms, have long safeguarded mariners navigating their way to harbor. From the windswept shores of Cape Cod National Seashore to the dramatic cliffs of Maine, my artwork seeks to capture the enduring beauty and quiet strength of these coastal guardians.

Warm and Dry: Staying comfortable during a day-long drive or a hike up one of the many hills in New England is essential: fleece, rain gear, and comfy shoes with support.

Vermont has right around 100 covered bridges remaining. They date back to the 17 & 1800's and we actually have a few built since 2001. Find one that you like and Google the name for a location, or go over and check the blog articles and read about some of the bridges I have written about.

The 2024 total solar eclipse inspired a wave of commemorative merchandise and specialized gear for those capturing the event. Among the most popular items were t-shirts, ranging from soft cotton styles to moisture-wicking fabrics, often adorned with eclipse paths across North America or dramatic artwork featuring Baily’s Beads and the solar corona. Many designs were location-specific, commemorating cities in the path of totality with coordinates and dates. Some shirts even featured glow-in-the-dark ink, revealing eclipse phases in the dark. Mugs were another favorite souvenir, especially those featuring time-lapse artwork of the eclipse or heat-reactive designs that transformed when filled with hot liquid. Many featured artistic renderings of the sun’s corona or marked the precise time and location of totality. Posters and prints were widely produced as well, ranging from high-resolution composite images capturing the eclipse sequence to artistic interpretations of the eclipse path laid over star maps. To capture the event, photographers relied on DSLR and mirrorless cameras equipped with telephoto lenses, often using solar filters to safely shoot the sun before and after totality. Tracking mounts helped keep the sun centered for longer exposures, especially during the fleeting moments of totality when the corona becomes visible. Heavy-duty tripods provided stability in windy or crowded conditions, and remote triggers allowed photographers to capture crisp, shake-free images. Some used telescopes with solar filters and attached cameras to photograph solar prominences and surface details. Smartphone photographers participated too, using clip-on filters or telescope adapters to take surprisingly detailed shots of the eclipse. The 2024 eclipse proved to be not only a stunning celestial event but also a catalyst for creativity, craftsmanship, and shared human experience.

Most of my reading tends to fall into two main categories: fantasy and science fiction, and non-fiction travel writing. I love taking a break from the constant buzz of social media and news to let my mind wander through imaginative worlds filled with magic, mystery, and possibility. On the flip side, I also spend a lot of time researching and exploring real places—mostly around New England—photographing them, and then writing about my experiences.
