Ways to enjoy the outdoors while in the area
Gibbs Gardens is well worth the visit. They have both tickets for single visits and annual passes. A beautiful place to stroll and see a variety of flowers and other plants.

East Cobb Park is a great little get away to get outside and enjoy the outdoors in Marietta. Has some paths for walking and outdoor play equipment for the children. It also has picnic areas and is nearby stores in case you forget something that you need for your picnic.

The YMCA Mcleskey has both indoor and outdoor activity space. Soccer fields, an outdoor track, outdoor tennis and pickleball courts are available for member use. Indoors there is a wide selection of fitness activities available, free weights, machine weights, an indoor swimming pool, sauna, basketball courts, and an indoor track. Locker rooms are available and have shower facilites.

Great service and a wide variety of pizza choices to include Vegan. Available for pickup, delivery, or you can eat inside.

Hong Kong Star is my wife's favorite Chinese Restuarant, so therefore it is mine. Great selection of food and drinks when you dine in and also is available for pick up and delivery.

If you are looking for a great place to find some wine in the Marietta, GA area, the Marietta Wine Market is the place to go. They have a huge selection of wine as well as live music and tastings weekly.

Proably one of the most exciting things to happen after I moved to Marietta was Duck Donuts coming to town. Now I don't have to drive to the Outer Banks of North Carolina to get some of the best donuts around.

Two Birds Taphouse and Restaurant is a great place to take friends and family for craft beer and good food. Just off the Marietta Square, they have a wide selection of beers to choose from. They also serve liquor and wine. Food menu includes pizza and a variety of other items that change seasonally.

When we want to go out for ice cream, Brusters is our pick. They have drive thru service available and a large selection of flavors. Cones, cups, and shakes are all available.

Marietta Coffee Company has great coffee choices and a small menu of food to go along with it. Depending on the weather you can sit outside or enjoy their indoor seating. Drive thru is also available if you are looking to get a cup on the go. Great way to support local.

Places to go and catch sports and other entertainment
Truist Park is home of the Atlanta Braves. It is a great atmosphere for baseball and I enjoy being a partial season ticket holder and love the way they treat us. Fireworks on Friday nigh home games are the norm. Truist Park also has concerts periodically as well as other events that are family friendly. Worth the visit and they also have tours to learn the history of the Braves.

Merchants Walk Cinema has seats that fully recline to make your movie making experience comfortable. Seats must be reserved, but can be bought on site, but are assigned and not open seating. Alcohol is also available for purchase. Wide selection of movies and times.

Cobb County has a great library system and the Mountain View location has a wide selection of resources available to Cobb County residents. Free to join and also has online resources available.

Barnes and Noble recently opened this new location at the Avenues East Cobb Mall. It has a great selection of books, serves coffee, and has an area for meeting with a friend while you talk about your most recent book read. Staff is very friendly.

American Legion Horace Orr Post 29 is the largest Post in the State of Georgia with a membership of over 1,000 Legionairres. The Social Quarters is open daily to members and their guests. The Post is very active in supporting Veterans causes in the area and also has hall rental available for events and training.
