Best Womens Trousers (Pants) for Tall people

Purple Star emoji 12 items
In the UK we call pants trousers. If you hear a Brit talking about pants then they are talking about underwear.
This list contains specific examples of trousers that will fit properly tall people as well as steering you towards the brands that you can go to in the future.
I'm average height (5'6" 167cm) but my daughter is 6ft tall and finding properly fitting trousers for her has been a challenge. Here are the places we look together as they have options that fit both of us.

Trousers (Pants)

Trousers and brands that I love for me 5'6" and my very tall 6ft daughter.

Mango is great for longer length trousers particularly in their smart trousers and jeans. These burgundy/plum trousers also come in red and black and are fantastic paired with butter yellow and pale blue for day. If I were going out in these I'd prob...
What I also like about mango is that their clothes are often machine washable and many styles come a plus size too.
These I've had to have shortened to fit my 5'6" frame. For me this adds cost to the trouser because I dont trust myself even to hem a pair of trousers. But I am happy to wear clothes for many years (decades even) so the cost per wear ends up very rea...

Zara trousers often come up long on me. And occassionally work for my 6' daughter too. These trousers, yummy though they are one of those pairs that are not full length on her - even if she wears them low slung on her hips.
I think these are fab for a night out though - I've got a couple of gigs coming up at the end of September and already have these down as one of the options to wear.
Fab with white, cream, black, burnt orange and browns - although I'd be carefuly with the blacks and browns so as to not look dowdy - there'll need to be some kind of edge like sheer fabric or a bare back and arms or an appropriately dramatic neck lin...

Marks and Spencers in the UK is basically a department store. They do alot of their own clothes - under various different range names as well as selling a number of other brands that familiar to UK shopper. The price point is generally good for the q... The cut, finish and sizing are usually good and the clothes are frequently machine washable.
Many of their trousers are sold with 3 leg lengths. These are just a rather lovely example.
I've tried to put this seasons (autumn 2026) clothes into this list. But if you're still shopping summer clothes the draw string linen plants at Marks were absolutely fantastic and very long even in the regular length.

If you are in to quality and havent yet tried Me and Em then I highly recommend this british brand.
The icon trousers I've selected here are absolutely gorgeous. the fit is fanatstic for me. I'd say it runs a half size larger than your typical high street brands. The material, drape, cut and finish on all Me and Em clothes are all top notch.
A considered purchase maybe - but worth every penny.
Leg lengths for trousers are  on the generous size and the hems are large and well finished. I take all of my trouser purchases to be shortened - and have a sneaking suspicion that I could buy the petite leg length if I wanted to.
Most trousers come in 3 lengths. So if you're tall you'll definitely be catered for here.
I actually bought the lemon yellow trousers that are featured in this image carousel. But since they were in the summer sale I've not lead with that image.
Also worth noting - although I'll probably do a separate section on them - is that the Me and Em jeans are fantastic too.
The price point is definitely at the top of what I can afford but the classic tailoring means that even when a style drops out of fashion for a while you know that you can squirrel an item away somewhere until 5-10years later it comes back into fashi...

Its so much harder to find pale trousers in autumn. Which at least proves that there is a smidge of practicality in the high street fashion industry. A wet muddy trouser hem is hardly a fashion forward look.
What I like about Massimo Dutti is that its one of those brands that I consider to be a little edgier whilst not being so extreme that it cant be worn by anyone over the age of 25. Often I love what they do. Sometimes not so much. These pleated trous...
If you are on the tall side, Massimo Dutti does tend to run long in its standard sizing. Think of it like a slightly more grown up Zara - which isnt surprising as they are brands for the same parent company.

I love Boden clothing as my tastes run to bold colours. These tailored trousers are perfect for work and will be a welcome pop of colour when the grey of winter settles over London. Dont worry if you prefer more sober colours - they are available too...
They come in 3 leg lengths - the long of which doesnt seem to be that long at first glance. However Boden adjusts more than just the leg length in its sizing to improve the fit - allowing for the longer spine as well as leg. Also worth remembering he...

If you want to dip your toe into the barrel jean shape but are worried that it wont look good on your figure. Then these barrel leg jeans from Me and Em are absolutely your best bet.
The cut of Me and Em jeans is beautifully considered for real bodies rather than walking clothes hangers with stick thin legs. The jeans fabric itself is top notch and the finish at hems and seams is fantastic.

So Me and Em brand again. But a more conventional shape with plenty of room and wanting a more relaxed shape.
The key thing to takeaway here is that the Me and Em jeans cut is excellent for the female figure - you are unlikely to get the annoying gape at the back of the waist that is something that I get with most jeans brands. The leg lengths are long and t...
Me and Em do ALOT of different jeans styles and colours so even if you dont like the style I've selected here you are highly likely to find something that you do like.
Their summer denim shorts are lovely too.

Massimo Dutti denim is fantastic. The price point is pretty good. And the leg lengths tend to the long - (I've had mine shortened professionally to keep the iconic denim hem stitch). Make sure you get a style you like as these jeans will last you yea...
As with all denim check the composition - if you get a little stretch in there the comfort level goes up a notch.
The product images pulled in are not nearly as good as on their website. so I definitely suggest going and taking a look.

I'm loving barrel leg jeans at the moment. And this pair -whilst ankle grazer in length on taller people (the model is 5'9") they are full length on me. They are available in more than 1 colour and the price point is pretty good.
One thing I love about Mango is that the quality seems to be slightly better than zara, the fit slightly more generous and the result is a slightly more polished outfit. Definitely one to check out.

There's always at least 1 pair of Zara jeans in my drawers.
Zara jeans are variable in length but generally consistently on the slightly longer side are a great price point and quality and once you've worked out the right waist and hip sizing that works for you are generally a winner. I always prefer the ones...

Every wardrobe needs a pair of black jeans. They have a bit of a split personality - dress them up for a night out where you want to be that touch smarter than a blue jean but not as formal as slacks, or dress them down to channel your inner rock god...
This pair is available in 5 leg lengths that go up to 35" which means even the tallest can find a pair that fits…..and check out the price point too :-)
