While I maintain I am not a coffee addict, I am on an eternal quest to find the best Cappuccino in SF, with just the right foamy milk, and coffee complexity. Ever since my first trip to Italy, I've been hooked. And if the cafe can be a great place to get in the flow and do some deep work, bingo. SOMA
North Beach
Not one of my usual spots, but made my way there once and fell into a monthly improv show! Incredible neighborly community vibes.
901 COLUMBUS CAFE
Only open mornings, but one of the strongest cappuccinos in town! Makes me believe I can run a marathon
Beacon Coffee & Pantry
On a sunny day, an espresso on the terrace feels like one of the most glorious things. I was soooo warmly welcomed by the Italian owner, and then got gifted a poem by the resident poet - it made me feel like part of the neighborhood in one of the bes...
Caffe Capriccio
1
Open later - the space feels like a trip to Italy - perfect to bring a book and relax. Not my fav cap (and cash only) but still a spot to keep on your map for the vibes!
Caffe Trieste
Hands down one of the best cappuccinos around. There are no spots inside but you can drink outside while watching the cable cars pass, with a view of the Transamerica - quintessential SF moment.
The Coffee Movement
It was my HQ for a few months - great cappuccino and superbe vibes mid-afternoon for focused work
Compton's Coffee House
I've spent countless afternoons in this little calm heaven. Fantastic for afternoon focused work, and a big cappuccino!
Fiddle Fig Cafe & Coffee
Polk
One of the only cafes on this list I haven't tried, but can't wait to! It is also apparently a wine bar in the evening!
Better Half Coffee
Another one to try! A small corner cafe that has specialty coffee!
Scullery
Incredible spot for an afternoon of calm and incredible specialty coffee - this place feels like a little refuge from the world moving too fast. On a sunny day, it also gets an incredible beam of sunlight.
Saint Frank Coffee
SOMA
Not tried yet, but I have read that they have a tea and coffee service! Definitely does not look casual, more like an asian high tea, but could be a great spot for a rainy afternoon!
Shoji
A little island of calm in the bustling SOMA. To find this little gem you'll want to get to the Salesforce Park, only then can you access this second-level cafe. The best cappuccino of the neighborhood, true specialtly coffee. Can be enjoyed on the s...
