My old utility knife slid open in my back pocket and sliced through my jeans. That was the last straw. These all have real locking mechanisms that stay shut until you want them open.

After slicing open about 20 boxes in one afternoon, my hand cramped so bad I couldn't grip a coffee mug. These handles actually fit a human hand instead of fighting it.

I used to force a dull blade through cardboard and wonder why it slipped sideways into my finger. Fresh blades cut cleaner and safer. Stocking up was the smartest thing I did.

When I moved last spring I had a living room full of wardrobe boxes and appliance packaging. A regular box cutter wasn't enough. These made the breakdown go three times faster.

Even with safe tools, I still managed to slice my thumb on a staple hidden inside a box flap. Gloves would have saved me a bandage and a lot of swearing. Now I don't open anything without them.
