Started here because I needed things that wouldn't punish me for forgetting they existed over a long weekend. These are the plants that stayed alive through my learning curve and still look great.

Realized pretty quickly that a nice pot can make a $6 grocery store plant look like it costs fifty bucks. These are the ones that made the biggest visual difference with zero effort.

The number of plants I killed from inconsistent watering is embarrassing. These literally solved my biggest problem overnight and I stopped finding crispy brown leaves everywhere.

Bought a ton of plant tools early on and most of them collected dust. These five are the ones I actually reach for regularly — nothing fancy, just stuff that works.

My first apartment had one north-facing window and everything was slowly dying from light starvation. These lights saved my plants and some of them actually look cool enough to double as decor.

Watched a lot of YouTube but these books are what actually made things click. Kept them on my coffee table and they double as decor — plus guests flip through them constantly.

Once I figured out propagation, I stopped buying new plants entirely. Snipping a cutting and watching it root is weirdly addictive and now I have way more plants than I started with — all for free.

Had plants scattered randomly on every flat surface and it looked chaotic, not cute. Adding actual display structures made the whole apartment feel designed instead of cluttered.

Didn't realize plants need different things depending on the season until my first winter when everything went downhill fast. Now I keep these stocked and rotate them in as the weather changes.
