Susan Bates® Soft Ergonomic™ Crochet Hook Set, G-K
I don't often do smaller hook size project, but when I do, I like this brand hook.
Prym® Ergonomics Crochet Hook
If you're planning to do bigger projects like blankets, you will appreciate getting some larger hooks like these.

These blossom cakes are some of my favorites. I love how the colors work up. They aren't blocky when you're working with it which makes for interesting colors without harsh transitions.
Caron® Blossom Cakes™ Yarn
I like the texture of this yarn. The way the color changes will result in a bit of a blocky effect. Make sure you do some test swatches to make sure you're happy with how it looks before you start you project. I use it to make purses for kids.
Caron® Cinnamon Swirl Cakes™ Yarn
Loops and Threads Soft Classic is the yarn I started with. I like that it's affordable and works up nicely.
Soft Classic™ Multi Ombre Yarn by Loops & Threads
Fun colors and a fun texture! It is a little tricky to work up, so I wouldn't recommend using it for your first project.
Twisted Tones™ Yarn by Loops & Threads
A lovely yarn for blankets! It works up pretty quick and has a delightful squish factor.
