There are people all over the internet selling baby items and telling you how much stuff comes with a baby. While it IS TRUE that babies need a lot of stuff, they need MUCH LESS than most people assume. Which would leave anyone (esp a new mom) overwhelmed after baby comes and the things you now need you don't have, and the things you have, you never use. While not everybody will need things on here as every journey through parenthood is different, here is what I would consider STAPLE items to have, get, and use.
