We visited Holland, Michigan in 2024 right before their tulip festival. The town is known for its Dutch heritage and tons of tulips in the spring. We had a great time and highly recommend this town for a fun family vacation or an adult get away.

Niel's Dutch village is a must see while in Holland. They have tons of shopping, entertainment for the kids, Dutch dancing, Dutch shoe making and lots of pretty tulips.
Nelis' Dutch Village
Spectacular is the only word to describe this garden. They have over 5 million tulips planted! You can order the ones you like for shipment to your home in fall. Be sure to check out the store next door for Dutch pottery and other Dutch souvenirs.

Loved this cute red lighthouse. You can see it from the beach or get an up close look on a cruise.
Holland Michigan Lighthouse - "Big Red"
We loved this dinner cruise. They served a fabulous meal and then we went upstairs and enjoyed a beautiful cruise which did go right by Big Red Lighthouse and also many fine homes along the waters edge.
Holland Princess Dinner Cruises
Cute pottery store. This was a great place to go on a rainy day.
Paint a Pot
Go here for the spectacular view through the tunnel. Stunning!
Tunnel Park
Nice beach. You can see the Big Red Lighthouse from here. I will caution you that it is a little chilly here in April but it is still a great place to take a little walk.
Holland State Park
This is a spectacular place for photo ops, nice walks, great flowers and a fun place for the kids to play. Look for the mural across the street for another great photo op.
Window on the Waterfront
Loved this restaurant for the large menu, big portions, good food and great view. Beautiful outdoor eating area.
Boatwerks Waterfront Restaurant
Beautiful garden. Special tip: you may get in for free if you belong to another garden in the shared entry group.
Windmill Island Gardens
Centrally located. Great place to see flowers, go for a walk or let the kids run around.
Centennial Park
Pretty campus. We toured the campus and visited the bookstore.
Hope College
We did not make it to here but everyone says it is also a great place to see so I am including it on my list of things to do.
Mt. Pisgah
Shopping downtown should be on your to do list while in Holland. The variety of shops is great and the downtown area is very easily walkable although there is parking.
