REI makes very comfortable hiking pants.  Depending on the time of year you travel to Iceland you may need insulated or possibly zip-off.

Iceland can be a rainy experience so be sure to have a rain jacket.  When visiting the numerous falls you'll want a rain jacket so you don't get wet from the spray.  Some of my favorite pics are the rainbows in the mist of the falls.

If you are in Iceland during the summer, do not forget to take an eye mask.  I loved the long days of sun but it will definitely interfere with your sleep if you don't wear a mask!

These rain pants are thin and are easy to roll and stick in a backpack.  You will want them at the falls even if it's not raining because you can get wet from the spray.  These are easy to pull over non-waterproof pants.

Trekking poles will come in handy in many areas.  Quite a few of the trails and falls have paved paths but many don't.

I love a neck gaiter for layering.  As the day warms, it's easy to pull off and stuff in a backpack.  If it's windy, pull it up over your nose.
