We have more cold months than warm months where I live. I have found we need to invest in things that will last and keep us warm and dry. Here are the things we’ve tried and love!

The merino wool base layer is super soft and my older kiddos love it! Our set has lasted us many years.
Kinsei - Kids' Merino & Wool-Lyocell Base Layer Set
This is great as a base layer but my daughter wore it by itself at lot in the fall or indoors on cold winter days.
Merino Wool Adventure Zippy - All Season
Love this for littles
Baby Snowtop II Fleece Bunting Hooded Suit – Infant | Columbia
My daughter loves how soft these fleece jackets are. And they wash up super nice!
Girls Benton Springs Fleece Jacket
Once my kids can fit into them, these are our boots of choice. They last through the seasons, are sturdy, and keep their feet dry.
Kids' Muck Boots - Rugged II
Carhartt beanies for the kids are a must have once the temperatures start to drop! And they wash up sooo good. My kids are able to get a few years out of them.
Kids Hats & Accessories
I love the zipper (it makes getting them on easier) and they keep the kids hands warm & dry during the winter.
Toddler & Kids' Gloves & Mittens - Reima US
This is a MUST HAVE for winter! It keeps the littles warm & dry and all 3 of my kids have been able to wear the same suit because it lasts!
Lappi - Toddler ReimaTec Waterproof Snowsuit - Reima US
The jackets are fleece lined and worth every penny! They make an awesome fall jacket.
Kids' Softshell Jacket - Vantti - Reima US
Adults
I loved wearing this by itself, but it's also great as a base layer
This jacket is lightweight and great for working outdoors or it can also be ‘dressed up’ for an evening out. (Dressy for me is clean jeans :) )
Women's Crawford Relaxed Fit Canvas Bomber Jacket
I purchased this in the Spring of 2025 and it is still going strong! It is lightweight to wear by itself, but it great with layers underneath, too.
Women's Mountain Classic Rain Jacket
These are great for the warmer, rainy days.
Women's Originals Ankle Boot - Muck Boots
Outdoor Gear
This is great for the entire family! It's low enough for the kids to get on/off by themselves but not too low for the adults.
Lowdown Couch
I love this for hiking, snowshoeing, or even just doing yard work.
Poco child carrier
I got these for my daughter a few years ago. Snowshoeing is something her and I enjoy doing together in the winter. These have lasted her quite a few years and she has many years left with them.
Kids' Winter Walker Snowshoes
I got these a few years ago and haven't had any issues with them. They've held up really well.
Snowshoes and Sets
I saw these in store and O.M.G! One of these winters I will be buying them for the kids.
Sonic Snow Tube - L.L.Bean
This carrier has a lot of miles on it and it still going strong. I've used it with 2 of my kiddos.
