Ferns were the first thing that actually survived more than a month in my bathroom. The steam from daily showers basically replaced misting, and they just kept pushing out new fronds like nobody's business.

Once the ferns worked out, I got greedy and started adding tropicals. Turns out a steamy bathroom is basically a greenhouse for these guys. They grew faster in there than anywhere else in my apartment.

Counter space in my bathroom is basically nonexistent. Hanging planters saved me because I could put plants up near the ceiling where the warm, humid air collects anyway.

Before I added shelves, my plants were crammed on the toilet tank and the edge of the tub. One wrong elbow and everything crashed. Wall shelves gave me actual spots that made sense.

Learned the hard way that pots without drainage holes turn into swamps in a humid bathroom. Root rot killed two of my first plants before I wised up and switched everything over.

Regular potting soil stayed too wet in my bathroom and started smelling funky within a week. Switching to chunkier, faster-draining mixes fixed everything overnight.

My second bathroom has zero windows. I thought plants were off the table until I stuck a small grow light on the wall. Now there's a thriving pothos in there that confuses every guest.

I assumed my bathroom was humid enough for anything. Turns out humidity drops to like 30% between showers in winter. A cheap monitor showed me exactly when to mist and when to leave things alone.

Between showers, bathroom humidity can tank, especially in winter with the heat running. A small humidifier or mister kept my plants from crisping up during those dry stretches.

Realized my tension shower caddy had an empty tier just sitting there. Put a small plant on it. Now it gets direct steam every single day and looks incredible. Started hunting for more multi-purpose spots.

Bathroom plants grow fast because of the humidity, which means they burn through nutrients quicker than you'd expect. I started feeding monthly and the difference was obvious within weeks.
