I used to wake up to lace-leaf broccoli every morning. The day I draped my first row cover, I stopped finding caterpillars in my dinner. These are the ones that actually held up through wind and rain.

My first attempt at row covers involved draping fabric directly on the plants, which snapped half my pepper stems. Hoops changed everything. Now the cover floats above the canopy and nothing gets crushed.

Wind ripped my row cover off twice in one week before I started properly securing it. Rocks worked okay until I tripped on one. These clips and fasteners solved the problem without turning my garden into an obstacle course.

Row covers handle 90% of the job, but I layer in a few extra deterrents for the gaps. When I open covers to water or harvest, these keep opportunistic bugs from sneaking in during that window.

Biggest mistake I made early on was ignoring my plants under the cover because I couldn't see them. Out of sight, out of mind. These tools let me water properly and check on things without removing the barrier every day.
