Shaded playground for kids. A walking track and trail as well on the same property. Very family friendly and clean
Gahagan Park
The absolute best time in downtown Charleston. King street is closed off to cars and people flood the streets. Always a great time to find new spots to shop and eat at. You’re guaranteed to see a lot of cute dogs as well!
2nd Sunday On King Street
Huge field for dogs to run and play around. Very clean. The park also has walking trails you can do if you prefer to just walk your dog. The dog park also has a splash pad for the pups!
North Charleston Wannamaker County Park
My all time favorite dog park in the Charleston area. A ton of space so you never feel crowded. My dog learned to swim here. The people have always been friendly too!
James Island County Park
Great beach spot. Not as touristy as the other local beaches so it’s fairly easy to find space to yourself here
Home | Town of Sullivan's Island Official Website - South Carolina
Tourist attraction for Charleston beaches. A ton of restaurants to go to near by as well as cute local shops to find souvenirs.
Folly Beach
Great for walks with strollers or walks with dogs. I’ve even taken my bike out to ride as well. Very pretty scenic views!
West Ashley Greenway
Shaded playground with a lot of space for kids. We could easily spend 2 hours here with our 1 year old and not run out of things to explore and do
Gahagan Park
The park section is divided by age appropriate play so it’s easy to keep baby entertained without worrying about too many other kids. There is a brand new splash pad in the same area that is toddler friendly that we love!
Mount Pleasant Memorial Waterfront Park
Very cool playground for kids! We really enjoyed it in the summer, there is a splash pad area with a lifeguard for safety which was nice. On Wednesdays the splash pad also held todddler hours which was nice not having to stress about older kids
Central Creek Park
Huge playground! Very inclusive for all ages and abilities. We spent an hour and a half with hour year old there and didn’t even make it to 60% of the park. That is how engaging the attractions are!
Park Circle Playground - Welcome to City of North Charleston
The best fresh produce! The vendors are extremely friendly and the market is a decent size but small so it feels very hometown like and intimate
Summerville Farmers Market
Multiple trail routes to walk your dog, exercise, or just explore.
James Island County Park
Very clean and scenic trail. I’ve walked, ran, and rode my bike on this trail and have always felt safe being on it. Perfect for the winter months bc it’s not in the woods, so the sun is always shining on it helping you to stay warm
Facilities • Sawmill Branch Trail
I did an internship here while in college and the garden itself is enough of a reason to visit the historical home!
Nathaniel Russell House
Restaurants
Some of the best food I’ve had in Summerville! You have to try the camp rolls
Low Country Fish Camp
The best shrimp and grits in the Summerville area!
Oscar's of Summerville
My go to for brunch! The coffee by itself is a great reason to go
Sunrise Bistro Summerville
A staple for me. I loved them when I was in college and they still had the location in downtown Charleston but so glad to still live near one today
Sports Bar in Summerville, SC - Kickin' Chicken
Everything on their menu that I’ve tried is excellent! The soups especially! Very friendly staff and great service! Always nice to catch them on a good weather day and sit out front to eat
