items Here's a guide to the best pizza, pasta and gelato places to try in Newtown, Enmore and Marrickville. These are my regular go-tos as an Inner West resident. Most of these places are traditional, authentic Italian food places.

Fabbrica have just opened a branch in Newtown. I love the food, service and modern interior. I really enjoy their Zucchini Flower, Mafaldine Prawn, Casarecce Lamb pasta, and Hazelnut Praline Tiramisu.
Fabbrica Pasta Bar Newtown
Head Chef Fabio Stefanelli is from Campania, Italy, and has worked at Michelin star restaurants overseas before settling in Australia. You get to choose your pasta type and sauce, which include 4 Formaggi and Ragu' Napoletano.
La Favola - Authentic Italian Newtown
Southern Italian restaurant. They have a $55pp set menu deal (starter, pasta, and dessert) available every day. I like their Tuesday night live music and 3 course meal deal for $50pp. The food is nice and the portions are generous.
Alba Salentinian Restaurant
There's always a line for this place. Choose your pasta and sauce and they'll cook it up in front of you. They also have veal or chicken schnitzels, parmigianas and more. Their pastas and dishes are rich, saucy, and generous in portion size.
The Italian Bowl
They have 1 restaurant in Sydney and 8 in Queensland. I love their rich and flavoursome sauces. I especially love their Wild Mushroom and Truffle Sauce, Creamy Lobster Bisque and Barramundi, and Traditional Beef Bolognese Gnocchi dishes.
Gnocchi Gnocchi Brothers, Newtown
They've also got a shop at 523 King St, Newtown opp. Newtown Theatre. Their pastas are nice but I usually go for their pastizz which have a crunchy, flaky pastry and fillings like chicken and mushroom, or chilli con carne, or apple & cinnamon.

Delicious plant-based pizzas. Gigi's pizzas are traditonal Neapolitan woodfired pizzas. They're a member of the AVPN (the 'Associazione Versace Pizza Napoletana).

Pizza Madre offer great tasting plant-based pizzas. I also love their tiramisu and burnt basque cheesecake!

Great local Italian restaurant which also features a couple of pasta dishes on the menu.

Lovely Italian restaurant with a great selection of pasta dishes including lasagna al forno, linguine modo mio, bucatini amatriciana, as well as 5 risotto options and other main dishes.

They have $15 Pastas on Thursday nights. I liked their pumpkin and gorgonzola gnocchi and the fettuccine alla bolognese.
BETTO deli & cucina
I especially love their Mandorla Affogato flavour, which won the Gelato World Tour title in 2014. They also have great gelato cakes as well.
Cow & The Moon
I especially love their pistachio praline flavour, as well as trying their list of weekly specials. They now also sell 6 flavours in the Woollies supermarket, so I can enjoy their gelato at home too! :)
Gelato Messina
Mapo only use natural ingredients with no aromas or colouring agents. Their gelato is really good!
Mapo Newtown
I love to sit in this lovely shop and enjoy their gelato. Especially love their zabaglione and pistachio flavours.
