items I love reading. I love when I have moments throughout the day to lose myself in a good book. Here are the books that I've read and loved and some that I didn't necessarily love but you just might. I love a good fast paced book and the slow burn series. My favorite series this year was Throne of Glass (TOG) by Sarah J Maas and my favorite book this year is Kingdom of Ash, from the TOG series. This is currently my favorite series of all time. Unpredictable surprises in every book and I devoured them all.

Depending on your preference, this can be book 1 or book 2 in reading order. When I chose to start the series, I chose the romantic reading order so Throne of Glass was book 1 for me. I was not disappointed.

This book was by far my favorite read of 2024. The way the ending crushed me was so good, I wish I could read it again for the first time.

I love all things witches and vampires and this has both. This was a great take on them and I highly recommend it.

I don't know if I was ready for this book. I was shocked by what happened within the first few chapters but that's Sarah J Maas for you, she keeps you on your toes.

I needed a break in between the series I was reading and this was the perfect quick read and a story I really enjoyed.

My co-worker recommended this book to me and it was the perfect book that got me out of my reading slump.
Fourth Wing - By Rebecca Yarros (hardcover) - Target
Continuation of Fourth Wing, what can I say but holy crow, I can't wait until the next book in the series because this was just amazing.
Iron Flame - (empyrean) - By Rebecca Yarros (hardcover) - Target
I bought this book in 2023 on a whim and I was not disappointed. This is another quick read that I thoroughly enjoyed.
Assistant To The Villain - By Hannah Nicole Maehrer (paperback)
Follow up to Assistant to the Villain, I cannot tell you how much I love the banter in this book. It is just perfect with a little bit of a comedic feel.
Apprentice To The Villain - By Hannah Nicole Maehrer (paperback)
Dark bully romance, fantasy. Level 3.5 on the spice meter and that level only amps up in the subsequent books.

YA Fantasy. If that's your jam, add this to the ever growing TBR. I love throwing a YA into the mix, especially when reading a long full on romantasy/fantasy series.

The Southern Book Club's Guide to Slaying Vampires
If you are a fan of The Hunger Games series, do not sleep on this one. It felt like I never left Panem, and I read the series way back when they were first published.

AMAZING series. If you love fantasy books this series is just perfection. I couldn't finish fast enough to be able to start the next book. I'm now waiting for the next book in the series to come out in December 2025.
