I love blacksmithing! I find it to be relaxing and a great way to unwind, feel good about myself and like I've accomplished something when I shape the metal to my will. It can be therapy, recreation and a great way to meet new people. It also opens up a bunch of other specialized aspects you can focus on. It can be a hobby, but also a business. I love the historical aspects of it as well. I volunteer at a museum as their resident blacksmith, and I sell items and do traveling demonstrations occasionally.
