This is such a cool spot to watch a sunrise or sunset. It can get pretty cold when the sun is down, so wear layers!

Parking is $10 per vehicle, and an additional charge of $5 per person. Park hours are 7:00 am – 6:00 pm (Last entry period for parking is 4:30 pm – 6:00 pm. Must enter park no later than 5:00 pm.)

This is a very easy 0.6 mile walk with breathtaking views of the Kūka‘emoku (Iao Needle).

Best Beaches

Some of the best beaches in Maui that we experienced. We stayed in Kīhei, Hawaii, so we explored a lot of beaches in and around that area.

This beach is absolutely breathtaking to experience however it is NOT SUITABLE for children or inexperienced swimmers. The shore break is extremely powerful and can easily knock you over. We went here simply to watch the waves and the sunset.

Makena Beach State Park (Big Beach) Maui | Go Hawaii

There are 6 miles of beautiful beaches in this area. It is one of the sunniest and driest spots on the Island of Maui. We had the best weather here!

Kihei | Go Hawaii

We personally went to all of these beaches, and each brought something diffrerent and unique. They were not crowded, and most were small enough waves that were safe for kids or beginner swimmers.

AFFORDABLE Golf Courses

I wanted to play a couple rounds of golf in Maui without breaking the bank. These two courses were both afforable and had great views. We had an awesome time, and still got to say that we golfed in Hawaii!

Pukalani Country Club is a beautiful, affordable course. I personally did not want to spend an arm and a leg on golf in Hawaii so this was a great option with breathtaking views of the Valley Isle of Maui.
