I hadn't painted since middle school and figured I'd be terrible. Turns out terrible is actually really fun when you're not being graded on it — and two hours disappeared before I even noticed.

I used to think puzzles were for waiting rooms and grandparents. Then I tried one on a Friday night instead of Netflix and didn't move from the table until midnight.

Told myself I'd make one scarf. That was six months ago. I now have four scarves, two hats, and an inexplicable sense of calm every evening.

Working with clay is the adult version of Play-Doh except you end up with a lopsided mug you're weirdly attached to. Ten out of ten, would make another wonky bowl.

Bought one of these thinking it was just for kids. Watched a crystal form over five days and checked on it more often than I check my phone. That says something.

Started writing three sentences a day in a notebook. Within a month I was filling pages and processing stuff I didn't even realize was bothering me. Cheaper than therapy, honestly.
