Every umbrella I owned before this round would flip inside out the second a gust hit. I looked ridiculous on a work call once because I walked in soaked and my mascara was halfway down my face.

My handbag already weighs fourteen pounds with all the stuff I carry. Adding a heavy umbrella was never going to happen, so weight was the first thing I filtered for.

Holding groceries, a leash, and a toddler's hand while trying to open an umbrella manually — that was my breaking point. One-button operation became non-negotiable.

Refused to carry another plain black umbrella that looks like everyone else's at the office. Found some that actually match my coat and bag without sacrificing function.

Threw away four cheap umbrellas in one winter. Four. Finally decided to spend a little more and stop replacing them every six weeks like they're disposable.

Not everyone wants to spend thirty bucks on an umbrella, and honestly some of the cheaper ones surprised me. These held up way better than their price tags suggest.

Realized my umbrella situation improved a lot once I stopped shoving wet umbrellas loose into my bag. A few small additions made the whole system work better.
