That 2 AM impulse blender purchase kicked off a smoothie habit I never expected. Suddenly I was buying frozen fruit in bulk and googling protein powder reviews at work.

Once the smoothie habit locked in, I started wondering what else I could fix about my mornings. Turns out, a lot — I was basically sleepwalking through the first two hours of every day.

The smoothie thing made me realize I actually enjoy making food when I have the right tools. Went from ordering Thai four nights a week to cooking meals that taste better than most of it.

Cooking with fresh herbs made me think I could keep plants alive. Killed three succulents before figuring out what actually works for someone who forgets to water things for ten days.

More energy from better food and sleep meant I actually wanted to move. But I'd rather do literally anything than step inside a gym, so I built a setup at home.

Somewhere around month four I caught my reflection and realized drinking smoothies wasn't going to fix the fact that I'd been washing my face with bar soap for a decade.

Better sleep schedule meant I had 30 minutes before bed with nothing to do. Picked up a book instead of my phone one night and now I'm averaging two a month somehow.

All these new habits meant nothing when I was still lying awake at midnight staring at the ceiling. Took some experimenting but I finally cracked the code on actually sleeping through the night.

Spending more time at home meant my wobbly card table desk wasn't cutting it anymore. Rebuilt my workspace piece by piece and my productivity honestly doubled.

With all this extra energy and free time from not doom-scrolling, I needed something to do on weekends besides errands. These random purchases opened doors I didn't know existed.
