Good rainy day family activity. This little museum (next to the old factory) sounds like an odd place, but grab one of their written quizzes to complete on the way round, and it's fascinating. Good Derwent Art Supplies Shop and small cafe.

Easily accessible by anyone in a car, and also walkable. Fantastic views.
Surprise View
Just across Derwentwater from Keswick (accessible by The Keswick Launch, or by summer service bus. Catbells, is a relatively easy hill walk, good for fit families, and it gives amazing views in all directions.
