I'm sharing this list as we're preparing and updating our emergency supplies at home. I'm usually pretty good about staying prepared, but it was time to go through everything, add a few things, and make some adjustments to ensure we're ready for whatever may come our way. I'm certainly no expert in emergency preparedness, and I'm not suggesting this is everything you need or that every family needs the exact same supplies. I simply wanted to share the items we have in our kit and the things we're adding to our household supplies. Every family has different needs, so you'll want to adjust your list based on your household, location and budget. Hopefully, sharing what we found and what we're using will help another family get started on preparing their own emergency supplies. We've actually had an emergency kit for years. We just go through it periodically, rotate items as needed, check expiration dates, replace anything we've used and add or adjust supplies as our family's needs change. Preparedness is something you can build on over time. You don't have to buy everything at once.
