Wanted something that looked painted by hand, not spit out by a printer. Sent in a blurry photo of my golden retriever and what came back genuinely made me tear up at my kitchen table.

Something about wood feels warmer than ceramic when you're grieving. Hung one of these on a bedroom doorknob instead of the tree and honestly that felt more right.

Didn't think I'd like acrylic until I held one up to a window. The light catches the portrait and suddenly your pet is glowing on your Christmas tree like a little stained glass piece.

Reached a point where I wanted something soft I could actually hold in my hand without worrying about dropping it. These feel like tiny stuffed animals shaped like your actual pet.

Wanted something that felt like an heirloom — the kind of ornament you unwrap from tissue paper every December and tell the story behind. Glass does that in a way plastic never will.

Had three dogs over fifteen years and wanted all of them together on one ornament — something that never existed in real life but felt right to create.

Needed something specifically for grief, not just a cute portrait. These acknowledge the loss directly and somehow make December feel less empty when you're missing a furry shadow at your feet.

Not every pet ornament needs to make you cry. My living dog deserves representation too, and preferably in the most ridiculous way possible because that matches his personality.

Refused to limit these to December — some of them hang in my car, sit on my desk, or clip onto a bag. A good pet portrait doesn't need a tree to earn its place.
