Every tortilla I made by hand looked like a map of a country that doesn't exist. The day I pressed my first perfectly round one, I stood there staring at it for a solid ten seconds.

Grocery store tortillas taste like cardboard once you go homemade. Finding the right flour and masa was half the battle, and I burned through a few bad bags before landing on these.

Pressing a perfect circle means nothing if you burn it on a bad pan. I ruined at least thirty tortillas on a nonstick skillet before I figured out the right cooking surface.

I used to mix masa in a regular cereal bowl and wonder why my dough was inconsistent. The right bowl and a few small tools made the prep side of tortilla-making actually enjoyable instead of a flour-covered disaster.

Plain tortillas are fine, but flavored ones changed the way I eat lunch. A pinch of something in the dough turns a regular wrap into something you'd pay twelve dollars for at a brunch spot.

Making twenty tortillas and watching them go stale by dinner was my personal heartbreak. Proper storage turned my batch cooking into something that actually lasts through the week.

A perfect tortilla deserves better than just cheese and whatever's about to expire in the fridge. These are the things I keep stocked so taco night goes from basic to something I'd actually post about.
