Wayang is a traditional performing art native to Indonesia which originated and developed rapidly on the islands of Java and Bali. UNESCO, the agency that oversees culture from the UN, on 7 November 2003 determined wayang as the most famous shadow puppet show from Indonesia, a World Heritage of Priceless Masterpieces in the Art of Speaking
