Spending a day away from screens can feel like a mini-vacation. Here’s how I like to do it
How to learn this ability? 1. Don´t use your mobile device or set it to airplane mode or silent mode and only take it if you don’t know where you are or you get injured.
2. Let your mind run free. Don’t fight with the thoughts in your head, let them flow freely, but don’t pay much attention to them, just observe what you are thinking about.
3. Leave your headphones in your backpack. Listen to the music of nature - the rustling of the wind, the crunching of twigs below you, the creek, the rustling of leaves, and notice the differences in these sounds.
4. Keep an eye on nature. Try noticing a flower in bloom, a stream running along a trail, a strangely twisted branch, rays illuminating a patch of clearing, a beetle crawling up a tree, interesting shapes in rocks, and so on. On every hike, you alway...
5. The smell of wild. Have you ever noticed how the smell of nature shifts as you move along your path?
6. Don’t rush. To tell you the truth, it took me years to understand that I don’t have to be on that hill in 30 minutes, that I can get up an hour earlier and not have to run to the sunrise.
Enjoy a walk in nature!
