These are my favorite local places to spend time. Most are outdoors. I love zoos, and places to walk outside.

Brevard Zoo

Be sure to take the safari ride. There are animals there which can only be seen on ...
ZooTampa at Lowry Park
This is a drive away from the city, but it's worth it. Enjoy a nice shady zoo with a wide variety of animals: alligators, monkeys, sloths, many birds, a petting zoo, reptiles, and animals common to Florida.
Then go on the drive through safari. Enjo...
Wild Florida Adventure Park
If you're in Titusville, this is a nice relaxing place to walk. There is a paved walking path, a kids play area, and if you're lucky you'll see some alligators.
Chain of Lakes Park
I love walking at the Orlando Wet Lands. You can choose a short or long loop. You can cross the marsh on a wooden walkway.
People come from all around for the bird watching.
Orlando Wetlands
This is a great place to take the kids. There is so much to learn, and lots of hands on stuff for them.
You can see moon rocks, and meteorites, real rockets and space equipment.
If you're interested in space or space travel, you will have a great...

There are plenty of clean bathrooms too.
They have a dog pa...
Wickham Park

Port Canaveral isn't just for those heading out on a cruise.
The port has restaurants, a museum, walking, access to the beach and fishing, and a casino boat.
It's not a place where you would spend a whole day unless you're going to the beach, but...
