Provincial campsites we’ve stayed at as a family and enjoyed.
There are a few different campsite along the lake. Green lake is great for swimming and water sports.
Green Lake Park
In our top 3 campsites list. Herald has added campsites in the past few years and the older sections are well treed. Huge beach and playground for the kids.
Herald Park
Fintry has a nice beach and a small playground. We like that we can bike all over and there’s a cool waterfall hike nearby.
Fintry Park
We’ve stayed here once and enjoyed ourselves.
Blanket Creek Park
This is a large campground and is busy but a lot of fun for families
Bear Creek Park
This is a good choice for those who don’t care for biking around as it is almost all hills. The beach is large and there are two large docks. The lake is great for fishing and kayaking. The area doesn’t get super hot so that is nice when it’s middle ...
Lac Le Jeune Park
There isn’t a ton of shade here but we tented and had a good time. There is a cool trail but you have to drive to the beach if you have kids and stuff.
Ellison Park
Great if you like a challenging hike-there is one to a beautiful lookout over the lake. The campsites are not near the beach so you’d have to drive down but there are lots of tables in the beach area and green space.
Paul Lake Park
Not a provincial site and is hard to get a spot as the campground is small but if you do, you won’t regret it. The lake is amazing.
Johnson Lake
Another rec site but the lake is really nice. We enjoy kayaking here.
Heffley Lake
Our number one most loved campsite. Great for families in the heart of the Shuswap. Excellent swimming lake. Campsite has showers and a bike park as well as a full perimeter trail you can walk or bike.
