It's the place where the famous “Bean” is, but it's also a lovely park filled with festivals and events especially during the summertime.
Millennium Park
Is it touristy? Yes. Is it still cool to see? Absolutely.
Cloud Gate
Biking down the lakefront is a must. Not only is it a fun way to get around the different neighborhoods (bike from Gold Coast to Lakeview!), but the views are stunning coming back into the city.
Lakefront Trail
If you're deciding between the Willis Tower or the John Hancock for sky high views, go here. The city views from here are so much better.
875 North Michigan Avenue
One of my favorite spots to walk around. You'll get amazing city views, and during the summer, the restaurants along the river open up.
Chicago Riverwalk
If you want to get away from the city, head to Lincoln Park. It's a huge park and great to walk through or have a picnic. In certain parts of the park, you forget you're in the city.
Lincoln Park
Yes, we have a zoo in the middle of the city. Also, it's free.
Lincoln Park Zoo
Right next to Millennium Park. You'll find Buckingham Fountain here, and have easy access to the lake. If you're up for a walk, go down the lakefront trail and you'll eventually hit Museum campus.
Grant (Ulysses) Park
Head to the Pier and take a walk around. Grab an Original Rainbow Cone, and find the Crystal Gardens. During the summer, there are fireworks 2x a week.
Navy Pier
Cool off during summer and head to the beach. Oak Street Beach is another option, it's smaller and closer to downtown.
North Avenue Beach
My most impressive spot to bring guests in town for a meal. Lovely interior inside of a Restoration Hardware. Tip: there's also a nice rooftop, so make your way to the top floor.
RH Chicago | The Gallery at the Three Arts Club
If you're visiting during the summer, visiting a rooftop and checking out the views is a must.
LondonHouse Chicago
Not only does Cindy's have the best rooftop for a view of Millennium Park, but there's also a game room on the second floor.
Cindy's Rooftop
Not many know about this park as it's a bit hidden behind Navy Pier, but it has one of my favorite views of the city here.

If you only have time for a few museums, visit the Shedd Aquarium! Super cool place with a variety of sea animals.
Shedd Aquarium
A great museum for natural history. Go meet Sue, the most complete T-rex ever found.
Field Museum
We have a lot of museums, and this one is a cool one for science. During the holidays, they have an exhibit showing different Christmas trees from around the world.
Museum of Science and Industry, Chicago
The museum to visit in Chicago for art. Sometimes there'll be special exhibits, like one featuring Van Gogh.
The Art Institute of Chicago
A neighborhood in Chicago for all the tech start-ups and fancy restaurants. You'll find tons of delicious restaurants in this area, but be aware there'll likely be a wait at the good ones!
West Loop
The neighborhood that I called home for many years. A great spot to walkthrough and checkout the houses, shop and eat at a patio.
Gold Coast
The best place to go for Asian food, desserts & pastries.
Chinatown
The spot to go and watch a comedy show. It's worth it.
The Second City
An architecture boat tour is the best way to see Chicago and its unique architecture.
Chicago Architecture Center River Cruise aboard ...
Did you know you can go kayaking in the Chicago river? It's fun and a great way to see the city.
Urban Kayaks | Kayak Chicago River
If you're a fan of baseball, watch a Cub's game here. The area is also fun for grabbing drinks and a night out.
Wrigley Field
If you're a fan of live jazz music, this is the place for it. Just make sure to bring cash!
The Green Mill
An elevated trail in Wicker Park. This neighborhood is known for a “hipster” vibe, with tons of cool street art and food options.
