For when you want to cut down on screen time
I have lots of DIY kits lying around in my house. These are the crafts I genuinely enjoyed.
A blanket you can color? Yes! Imagine being cozy on your sofa and also just coloring away. If a blanket is too much of a commitment, they also have pouches and bags. Make sure to not get ripped off by copycats though.
Color Your Own Blanket
These are adorable and great decor between your books. These are very detailed and will probably take you a few hours to build. Lots of houses to choose from. I pretend that a book fairy lives in mine.
Book Nook Kit - DIY Miniature House
For when you want to build bricks but don't want to break the bank (Legos ehem).
The Starry Night Building Set
Make beautiful window art that catches the light. Perfect for adults and kids alike. Admittedly not the best quality but they still make pretty colors. My windows have too many of these. This makes you disassociate, 10/10.
Suncatcher Kit
There's something therapeutic about the repetitive movement of sticking small beads onto sticky paper. There are tons of available designs. I've personally finished around 5 big ones. This is like cross stitching… without the stitching.
Diamond Painting Kit
As the title says, you don't know what you're coloring until you're done. I'm on page 27 as of writing. Really quite relaxing.
100 Color by Number Mysteries: Adult Coloring Book
Instead of buying charms and figurines, why not make your own? I followed TikTok and YouTube tutorials to make mine, they didn't turn out so great 🤣
Air Dry Clay Kit
I chose the cat because duh but there are a lot of animals to choose from. Who doesn't want a customized night light?
Paint Your Own Cat Lamp Kit
I made a few of these and also managed to stab myself multiple times. So if you're clumsy like me, wear gloves! Also, don't let kids do this on their own.
Needle Felting Kit
I got 3 of these and painted over the preset designs. Also slathered modpodge after so it can actually be used.
Coasters Painting Kit
Why buy expensive candles when you can make your own? Just don't burn your house down when you do light it. (I prefer using a candle warmer instead of an open flame.)
Candle Making Kit
Another painting activity! but you can add your fragrance once you're done. adds a little personal touch to your home or car.
Wooden Air Freshener Painting Kit

For longer projects, try crochet kits or rock tumbling for creative, low-tech hobbies.
I've been crocheting for two years now. I started with a kit like this one and I haven't stopped since. All my friends have received crocheted items and I have a dedicated corner of my home for yarns. This will take over your life. YouTube tutorials ...

Junk Journaling
Shiny rocks? Yes. If you have the patience or if you're the type to forget what you're doing, this hobby is for you. Rock tumbling takes weeks. But the results are always a surprise. I have young nephews and they always love shiny rocks as gifts.
