Pier 26 Science Playground - Hudson River Park
Explore this maritime museum in the charming Seaport area. The museum hosts free family Saturdays with various activities. Saturdays and Sundays 11:00am-4:30pm.
South Street Seaport Museum - Where New York Begins
There are many playgrounds in Central Park, but this one is made for toddlers. You could spend hours here letting your little run around!

Another great playground for toddlers in Central Park.
Bernard Family Playground - Central Park Conservancy
Visit Evelyn’s playground in Union Square. The playground equipment is not quite toddler-friendly, but there’s a large sandbox and swings. Union Square hosts free markets throughout the week and a holiday market in the winter.
Union Square Park - NYC Parks
A man-made public park on the west side of Manhattan. Features a playground and miles of paths for your toddler to run around. Often hosts family events and concerts. Free admission. Can get busy in warmer months. Best to go on a weekday.
Little Island: Home
My favorite park in the city. They have a charming children’s area with a carousel. They host a large holiday market in the winter. Large grassy area for running and picnicking. Visit the Stavros Niarcos library on the same day since it’s nearby.
Bryant Park NYC
Indoor Activities
This library across from the NYPL has a children’s area on the bottom floor. Let your little run around down there then head to the top floor to grab a pastry at Amy’s. Then head out to the secret rooftop terrace and take in the views.

Books of Wonder | NYC Kids Books
A must-visit museum in New York. Your toddler will love the giant whale and animal exhibits. During warmer months, make your way to the roof on top of the parking garage and let your kids run in the sprinklers.
American Museum of Natural History | New York City
This is a children’s play and learning area inside the Metropolitan Museum of Art. When you show up at the MET, ask to reserve a time for the play area. If it’s not busy you’ll get right in. If it’s busy, walk the museum until your given time.
81st Street Studio - The Metropolitan Museum of Art
This iconic toy store is fun to explore. Let your toddler walk on the famous floor piano. It is especially fun to visit during the holidays.
