This is a very good brush pen, but you have to 'activate' the ink yourself. This makes the pen refillable, but it does require an extra step, so as a beginner, it is more convenient to try a felt-tip brush pen first.

I really use this calligraphy pen for everything instead of what it was originally intended for. It has a very beautiful deep black color, so it is perfect for coloring larger surfaces.
