Finding the right educational toys can make all the difference in keeping kids engaged while learning at home. As a homeschooling mom, I know how important it is to have hands-on, interactive toys that make lessons fun (and secretly educational). Thi...
This can be played solo so kids can have some quiet time or tournament style, which we love to do.
Bamboozle is a game that is both fun and educational.
They can get some outside time AND some creative time with this camera. It is quite hardy too so any age can play with it without you worrying about it getting broken. It can even get wet!
A camera is both fun and creative...and photography is a school subject!
My son loves doing these. You can get them inexpensively from just about anywhere. It's a little bit of science thrown in with the fun of digging.
Any of these kind of dig kits are perfection for learning about geology!
It's meant to be played with just the early reader, but we make it really hard for the teens to win and include everyone. My young readers get extra reading time and dont realize it. Everyone has fun and laughs together.
Fun Game for Early Readers & Siblings
We have multiple sets and I highly recommend getting several sets. I prefer this particular brand because they are long lasting and durable. I've tried some other brands and they left me disappointed.
Glow in the Dark Magnetic Tiles for All Ages
I bought two of these so there were a lot of options but one is plenty for just one child. We got a large tote to store it all in. I also bought some additional “tent covers” from so there was more to build with.
Fort Building Set for Creative Engineering
Target has these and the bins are included for such a great price. You can DEFINITELY create these on your own using Pinterest for ideas. I've done it both ways. Currently, I prefer purchasing the whole thing from Target. A lot of fun for all ages. Dont discount the teens having fun with these too!
Sensory bins are so much fun and perfect for playing while the siblings are finishing school work.
My kids had many different sets and several boards. They used them to tell stories, make up scenes or building worlds. Such amazing open ended play.
Felt boards are a wonderful quiet time activity that can be used anywhere!! Etsy sells so many different types you can pick anything a child shows interest in.
We have two sets so we can compete. But if you get a child who is really interested in these, they will spend HOURS practicing…and they'll be better than you and always beat you!!! We do competitions with each other.
Stacking cups are a game, a hobbie and a skill!
This is one of my favorites we've done. The kids can do these on their own but it's so much more fun as a family. It's challenging and gets them thinking outside the box. But also causes us all to have to work together. Get several for rainy days!!!
