Did I mention I love to eat? Chicago is the eating capital of the Midwest, and my waistline proves it. This list is ever growing as there are so many great places to eat all over the city

Latin Cuisine
This is my favorite place to eat. There used to be two spots but the other closed during COVID. Their birria ramen is soooo good. They also make a heck of a margarita.
Blue Agave Tequila Bar & Restaurant
Nice decor and good food. I stumbled in there during a walk and had a delightful meal. I’m a sucker for Mexican cuisine and I’m looking forward to returning soon.
Mercadito
Barrio is another place I frequent. Great location as it’s close to River north and the downtown area and the food is good.
Barrio
Think Peruvian tapas. The food was really good but the views were even better. Loved the roof top area and the realized vibe of the restaurant.
Cabra
Mediterranean Cuisine
This restaurant is in the West Loop and they have some of the best octopus! It’s Mediterranean food and decor so a wonderful spot for celebrations and photo ops with friends.
Lyra
There are two locations but this one sits right in the river. If you sit on the lower level you get a great view of the river and boats. Come for the food stay for the decor and ambiance.
Beatnik On The River
Steakhouse
It’s located in the old Michael Jordan restaurant and it has such a nice chill vibe. The steaks are phenomenal and this is the only place I know where I can get a traditional Yorkshire pudding. Looking forward to visiting again for my upcoming birthd...
Hawksmoor Chicago – a London steakhouse in River North
This a fun date night dinner. The food is delicious and there is a great ambiance in the restaurant.
Mastro's Steakhouse
This is a little more on the pricey side but it’s located in the Gold Coast. You are paying for the experience. The food here is good but you have to make a reservation as it gets pretty packed.
Maple & Ash
Soul Food
Very reliable spot! They’ve been in Chicago for years and the food is consistently the same. Good ole soul food with nice portions.
Wishbone
The food here is pretty good. The portions are enough to share if you want to try multiple side dishes. I visited the location in West Town which is closed but there is a larger one that opened on the West Side.
Soule Chicago
The food here is really good and the drinks are heavily poured. You will need a reservation as the space is very tight with limited seating.
The L Station
Asian Cuisine
Hands down some of the best sushi presentations I have ever seen! Everything looked too beautiful to eat but that doesn’t last long. The rolls are good and you’ll dive right in and forget about how pretty the plate is.
Yuzu Sushi & Robata Grill
This is an experience. The food is good and they offer sushi on their menu, which was pretty fresh for the Midwest. But go to Tao for the overall ambiance and beauty of the restaurant. You will need reservations!.
Official Website of TAO Asian Bistro & Nightclub | Chicago
If you love K-pop you’ll like this spot. They play K-pop videos on the tv and also have live music and DJ sets. I just go for the popcorn chicken which is plentiful and good!
MIKI'S PARK - Restaurant Reviews
French Cuisine
The decor is beautiful they really channel France in the spring. Also, the food portions are much bigger than I expected from a French restaurant and the food was really good. My salmon was perfect, I cleaned the plate.
Bar La Rue
This is my mom’s favorite restaurant. More traditional French menu and the space is a little smaller than some of the other restaurants. However, the closeness actually reminds me of dining in France.
Mon Ami Gabi Chicago
Chicago Classics
This is one of the best things rust pizzas you will find in the West Loop. The ingredients are really fresh and the pizza is delicious. This place may be a little pricier than some other restaurants but it’s worth it. If I could eat this pizza daily ...
Nancy's Pizza Chicago West Loop
This pizza is unique and this place is famous. Anticipate lines and an overly crowded register. Ricobenes is a special deep dish pizza where the sausage is one layer, cheese is a layer, and the sauce is on top. This crust is thick, crispy, but a litt...
Ricobene's - Food Menu
I used to go here for lunch years ago. Now it’s the restaurant where they film The Bear. There are several places to get an Italian Beef but for the River North area this one has the most authentic feeling.
Mr. Beef
There are two locations in the downtown area but this one has parking! Get a classic Chicago hot dog or Italian Beef. The chocolate cake and lemon cake in the summer are amazing!
