I used to lay down old towels under the high chair like some kind of medieval setup. These mats catch the chaos and most of them just wipe clean or toss in the wash.

Regular bibs were a joke — my son would get puree in his armpits somehow. Long-sleeve bibs and coverall bibs changed everything about mealtime laundry.

My daughter used to yeet her plate across the room before I could even sit down. Suction plates don't fix everything but they buy you at least a few extra seconds of peace.

We went through a phase where every cup got hurled off the tray within thirty seconds. These are the ones that survived the drops, didn't leak all over the floor, and my kids actually drank from.

The fabric that came with our high chair was stained beyond recognition within a month. Replacement covers that actually come clean saved me from buying a whole new chair.

Even with bibs and mats, food still ended up in places I didn't think possible. These catchers go between the baby and the floor and save you from finding dried peas under furniture weeks later.

Regular wipes weren't cutting it after my kid discovered the joy of smearing yogurt into every surface. These are the cleanup tools I reach for after every single meal now.

Our pediatric OT told us babies eat better when their feet are supported and they're sitting upright. Made a huge difference in how much food actually ended up in mouths versus on the floor.

Handing a baby a regular spoon is basically asking them to catapult food across the room. Short handles, chunky grips, and pre-loaded designs made self-feeding way less of a disaster in our house.
